The Day where I met my Buddy ^-^V

A new chapter of the friendship between 2 people ... 

Today, is the day where i'm going to meet my totally new friend, 

Ms Ker Shin had done the matching thing,,

Ms Ker Shin is the advisor of BEST BUDDIES ,, 

she is also one of the counsellor in UCSI ...

 

BEST BUDDIES 

matching one-to-one friendship 

between us, college buddy (student) & buddy (people with learning difficulties)...

and guess what, BEST BUDDIES MALAYSIA --- started last year ... 

and it's FIRST in Malaysia, you can only find this in UCSI UNIVERSITY, 

we are the pioneer, and we are now working together -->

organising events, involving the buddies, their parents, college buddy, 

having FUN and get to know about each other... 

it means a lot to both parties, 

this is an USUAL and totally different association, 

compared to other clubs in most of the UNIVERSITY ...

okie, back to the topic today, 

ME & Ker Shin together took the KTM from Bandar Tasik Selatan station, 

(thanks to my daddy, who fetch us there >3 )

waited for awhile, KTM reached, 

and i kinda freaked out because i know i'm going to enter the Canned of Sardin, 

well, KTM is well known for that, and a lot of snatch thieves "work" there..

very carefully we carried our belongings near our body, squeezed into the KTM... 

i've encountered this before, 

it's almost the same situation, if you've taken Monorail before xD

reached KL SENTRAL around 12pm, 

then, we headed to McD !!! 

there were a lot of people, the place was crowded as it was lunch time @.@

thanks to Ker Shin, who found the table.... heheee

1 thing, i was so suprised, that i actually met 1 of my good friend back in Primary School 

he is Yee Siew Man, hahahaa.... 

i've been lost contact with him, i hvnt met him for such a long time, 

and i was really HAPPY to see him today, at McD, 

we sat down and chit-chatted for awhile^^

He is teaching at a primary school near Jalan Imbi, standard 3 students, 

i'm glad to hear that he's enjoying, having fun time... lolxxxx

*hope we can meet up and gather again* 

Ker Shin had Spicy Chicken McDeluxe, ( which used to be favourite )

I had Apple Pie, Fries, Iced Milo -- because they dont served McEgg for lunch >,<

we had great time talking about hair, our lives, etc... 

After awhile, SHE arrived, wearing in a pink t-shirt, one of my favourite colour xD

Who is She ??

She's my Buddy, my new friend, Hooi Teng ... 

She is the Vice President of United Voice (UV)

she looks too normal, i know we can be really good friend. ^^v 

She's very friendly, she smiles, she laughs, 

she talks quite a lot sometimes, asking questions, 

she is a simple person, she dressed casually, 

she feels comfortable while we were talking  [i think so from i've noticed]

We talked about a lot of things, 

from my DIY nails, french nails which i'm having right now ^^ 

showing her some pictures inside my hp, she's interested larr.. 

then, we talked about what we like to do when our free time, 

also about where she live, what i study in Psycholodgy, what we can do next time.. 

blah blah blah.....................................................................

then i gave her the wrisband, wear it for her too,, 

then we exchange contact numbers, email address, 

AND of course - i gave her my blog address, hehee^^

before we left, must take some pictures first to remember this special day, 

where i met my buddy, where i know a new friend,

she bought something for herself, *Wink* ... HEHEHEEEE

they sing so well, they can dance !!! "

this is more of a competition, 

we have judges, 

and 3 GRAND PRIZES for the winner  !!! 

LUCKY DRAW -- the attraction on that day too ... 

event starts at 7pm, 

some light refreshment will be served ... ^^V

Things happening this SEPTEMBER !!!

okie, straight to the point---->>

1. short semester which means any assignmetns,test,midterm,will cramp in this month....

2. a fund raising event by the Best Buddies (BB), perhaps selling BIG APPLE donuts (if nothing goes wrong)

3. MY 20th BIRTHDAY...(hoping to have surprise like last year, wishes from unexpected friends)

4. BB welcoming tea party

5. movie day out with sis (coz got free movie ticket from GSC and mystyle.com.my/v2/

6. mooncake festival on 14th Sept (celebrating ?? not really...i dont play lanterns anymore)

7. planning outings with choi peng (when she come back during month end ^^V )

erm,,what else ? cant think much right now.....tell u later when i remember more.......CIAO ...

Disability Awareness Workshop......

well,,,it's on wednesday,,9am-1pm,,at BLOCK A---lounge...



sounds meaningful geh workshop is "happening" here......in UCSI,,organised by the BEST BUDDY.............it's the 1st in m'sia wor...^o^ since i was really free that day,,and have this chance of getting to know more about disability people(vision/hearing impaired,,down syndrome,,autism,,etc....) how to approach them,,what to aspect when dealing with them...........



before the talk began,,there's this activity which i think is reallyx3 meaningful lor.....we have this small white paper with a short statement written on it on our forehead>.< (eg: i'm miss world,,i just came out from jail,,i'm blind.....) some were very funny things,,we were not allowed to tell our frens what is it...then they asked us to find partner or group together based on situation like find a partner if u want to set up a company, people u will inveite to a party.....BLAH BLAH BLAH... but u know,,i just couldn't stand it.....so take a PIC of it and then the next moment i remember -->> people saw it and they were in silence and walkaway....too bad,,
now only i know why people treated me like that......FYI,,of coz i'm not such a person,,i dont want to be a loner,,i cant live without fren((once again i write here..)) knowing how a loner feel,,being lonely all the time,,people keep on avoiding u ,,not being invited to any party,,nobody wants to partner with you.....indeed it's very sad geh !!!

so,,now i've change my mind,,to approach any people,,be their friend,,willing to help or talk to them (aiya,,of coz not simply approach a stranger lah...) nobody here,,on this earth born to be a loner !!
therefore,,i choose to --- not to be loner,,and also make sure my friends around me wont be a loner too....hahaha..............^^V




during the workshop,,towards the end,,our VVIP-- 3 disability people just arrived (i think so ),,they were invited to said a few words,,even though they normally speak in mandarin/cantonese,,they tried their best to introduce themselve in english......i really felt so touch,,and we watched the video when they were dancing.....we looked at them having fun,,and we felt happy too ... then,,finally it was over and we had our lunch there (wow,,nice one---nasi lemak was provided) once again,,i'm not a loner although my friend left earlier for her english class......i met wai mun and chuan jie ,,we chit chat for a while,,had our lunch then we made an effort to approach our VVIP..hehe..

it was actually my first encounter,,to approach the down syndrome people....my first question mark in my mind --> are they just like normal people ? what to ask them ? how to start our conversation ? well,,the moment we sat down,,closer to them,,they shoke our hand,,then started to ask us ~~ our names,,our age,,where we live,,all sorts of question.....it was really a great time spending with them,,talked to them....they were very nice and of coz -- friendly.....haha...

SO,,people,,dont treat them differently,,they are actually just like normal people...it's only their appearance are a bit different from ours...does it mean that we should treat them differently ? make them feel like alienated ? being left out in the society ? NO NO NO !!!

WE ALL THE SAME,,WE ALL NEED FRIENDS ...

WE NEED LOVE, SUPPORT, CARE just like they do ....
